An activist has moved to court challenging the proposed privatization of the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by the state.
In the petition, Isaac Guyo now wants the court to stop Adani Airport Holdings Ltd from taking over management of the airport.
He wants the court to nullify all proceedings and agreement related to the project by Adani Project Holdings.
Guyo argues that there was no public participation inthe project and transparency thereby infringing the constitution.
“This court declares the entire transaction including the privately initiated proposed by Adani Project Holdings and all the attendant processes related thereto as unconstitutional ,null and void,” reads court papers.
Guyo says the project at JKIA is marked by several breaches of the constitution adding that the exclusion of the public from the transaction and the lack of transparency and accountability is a serious violation of the constitution.
