Advocate wants court to suspend appointment of Parastatal boss who masqueraded as a doctor and killed patient

Lawyer Apollo Mboya has moved to court seeking for suspension of Dr. Charles Githinji as the Chairperon of the Pharmacy and Poison Board for being unfit to serve.

Mboya claims that Githinji was convicted by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Council for causing the death of a patient as he masqueraded to be a doctor.

Githinji who is a pharmacist is alleged to have gone beyond his calling and treated the patient as a doctor when he was not.

In the petition, Mboya argues that Githinji is unfit to hold office on grounds that he caused the death of a patient.

According to court papers, Githinji was convicted by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Council and ordered to pay 27,000 shillings.

He wants the court to suspend the gazette notice that appointed him as a chairperson.

Mboya further argues that Githinji continued stay in office endangers the rights and well being of the public.

He argues that someone who was convicted for gross negligence ,for acting beyond his calling as a pharmacist that contributed to the death of a patient should not hold public office.
