Controversial city businessman Chris Obure was on Monday arraigned before a Nairobi court and charged with forgery in relation to an ongoing dispute over the ownership of Senteu Plaza.
It was alleged that on diverse dates between June 12, 2017 and October 9, 2023, he conspired to commit an offence of forgery contrary to the Law.
He is alleged to have forged a Binding Board Resolution purporting it to have been stamped and signed by Chandul Shah, a director of AC & others limited.
He is also accused of giving false information to a police officer working with serious crimes unit.
It is alleged that Obure on February 9, 2024 at DCI Headquarters mislead a police officer by telling the officer that he had an agreement for sale of a building known as Senteu Plaza making the officer to act on the false information against the interest of Justice.
He appeared before Chief Magistrate Susan Shitubi at Milimani Law Courts where he denied the charges.
He was released on a Sh 500,000 bond with an alternative cash bail of Sh 200,000.
The case will be mentioned on February 11, 2025.
