Nairobi, June 13, 2024 – The High Court has extended the suspension of orders that prevent 67 police officers from being suspended, pending the hearing and determination of the case against them.
Memba Ocharo initiated the legal challenge after Head of Public Service Felix Koskei directed the suspension of the officers, citing a report by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) implicating them in corruption.
Justice Chacha Mwita extended the protective orders after Lawyer Danstan Omari filed an application seeking this extension. The court has now granted all parties 13 days to submit their filings.
The case is scheduled for mention on November 19, where parties will present their highlights and further arguments.
