Court halts Judicial Staff Association elections that were slated for this Saturday.

A Nairobi high court has halted the Kenya Judicial Staff Association(KJSA) elections that were to be conducted on Saturday pending hearing of case challenging them.

Justice Lawrence Mugambi issued the orders and further directed that parties file their submissions adding that the petition shall be dispensed by way of evidence.

“Conservatory orders are allowed as prayed pending hearing and determination of the petition,” the judge ordered.

Through lawyer Shadrack Wambui, four members moved to court challenging the elections arguing that legitimate candidates have been barred from contesting.

Vincent Gikunda,Oscar Soi, Frank Megiri and Linet Murugi argue that no AGM was conducted during the pendency of the present elections.
