Court to rule whether it will close Pastor Ezekiel’s miscellaneous file tomorrow marking an end to the investigations against him.

The court will tomorrow make a ruling to determine whether it will officially close the miscellaneous file against Pastor Ezekiel Odero which will bring to an end month of investigations against him.

Odero was arrested in March this year and police produced the miscellaneous file in court saying they needed more time to investigate him with crimes related to committing the felony of murder, aiding suicide, abduction, radicalization, genocide, crimes against humanity, child cruelty, fraud and money laundering.

However, since March the preacher has never been charged and the prosecution has been asking for more time to complete investigations.

On Monday, his defence team led by Danstan Omari and Cliff Ombeta opposed further mentions asking the court to close the file.

The matter was coming up today for a mention to confirm whether the prosecution has decided to prefer charges against pastor Ezekiel or not

Surprisingly the senior prosecutors who have been handling the matter were not in court so prosecutor present in court asked for time to allow the seniors come to court.

Odero’s legal team objected to the application saying it was a delaying tactic since the matter was first in court in march this year.

They argued that the matter should be closed the file to be closed if they will want to prefer charges, they can do it because at it is further adjournment would be an abuse of the court process.

“The file is not a criminal matter is a miscellaneous matter there must be an end to investigations which has taken over ten months,” the court heard.

The case will be mentioned tomorrow for ruling on whether the file will be closed.
