Elderly Man Charged with Defrauding Company of Sh1.6B Nairobi Land

An elderly man accused of defrauding a Nairobi-based company of land worth Sh1.6 billion was arraigned before the Milimani court on Tuesday to face charges of fraud.

Francis Muhuhu Ndinguri was charged with conspiring to defraud Masser’s Langton Investments Limited of a prime parcel of land located along the Nairobi Bypass road.

The prosecution alleges that between January 4 and September 15, 2023, Ndinguri conspired to steal the 21.85-hectare piece of land, valued at Sh1,619,700,000, from the investment firm.

In addition to the conspiracy charge, Ndinguri was also accused of forging a land registration certificate, passing it off as genuine.

Appearing before Magistrate Martha Nanzushi, Ndinguri pleaded not guilty to the charges. The court granted him release on a Sh5 million bond pending the case’s conclusion.
