Ex-anchor Maribe gets relief as court absolves her from Monica Kimani’s murder

Former news anchor Jacque Maribe is free at last six years after she was charged alongside her former fiance Joseph Irungu for the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani.

Maribe was exonerated on Friday in the judgement delivered by Justice Grace Nzioka who said there was no evidence linking Maribe to the murder.

Justice Nzioka said that from the evidence produced the only offense Maribe committed was lying to the police about the Jowie’s shooting incident.

The judge said the offense of murder was not a proper charge to bring to court and she should have been charged with giving false information to a public officer.

Maribe’s family and friends celebrated her win saying they were grateful to God for journey so far and the win in court.

Dennis Itumbi was also present in court alongside her other friends who stood with her from when she was first arraigned in court in 2018.

Maribe’s father was emotional as he hugged his daughter bringing to a close tears of agony for the family who have attended every court session since she was charged.

However, Jowie was not so lucky as the court convicted him ruling that there was sufficient evidence to prove that he killed Monica.
