A Former East Wanga Ward MCA was on Friday arraigned before a Nairobi court and charged with obtaining Sh 16 Million.
Zaid Shaban Oteng’o appeared before Magistrate Gilbert Shikwe and denied the charge.
The court heard that he fraudulently obtained Sh 16.7M from Mohamoud on diverse dates between August 2016 and November 2018.
It is alleged that he fraudulently tricking and influencing Mahamoud Zaid Suleiman to pay him a sum Sh 16,746,000.
He however denied the charges saying they are politically initiated.
He pleaded with the court to be released on very lenient bond terms saying he is not a flight since he has been a public officer.
He was released on Sh 2 million with an alternative cash bail of Ksh 700,000.
