The hearing of the case where five officials of the Kenya Union of Savings and Credit Cooperatives (KUSCCO) are charged with stealing Sh83 million will start in June.
This is after defence lawyer Apollo Mboya confirmed to court that the prosecution has provided all witness statements and evidence intended for use in the case.
“The hearing will proceed now that the inventory has been signed. The case is scheduled for June 23 and 24 this year. The accused persons are required to attend court. It will be a physical hearing,” the court directed.
The accused — George Magutu Mwangi, George Otieno, George Owino, Jackline Atieno, and Mercy Muthoni — were previously granted a cumulative cash bail of Sh14.5 million.
