Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo is a man under siege as MCA’s set date to table motion to remove him from office.
In a notice issued by Speaker Enock Okero, the MCA’s will hold a special sitting in the Assembly on Friday next week at 9.30 am for the removal of the governor
“The business to be transacted shall be to give notice of motion for removal from office by impeachment of H.E Amos Kimwomi Nyaribo the Governor of Nyamira County,” it reads in part.
On Thursday Nyaribo said he will not be threatened by anyone on the any matter and even extended an olive branch to the MCA’s for dialogue.
The MCA’s had threatened to file a motion for the removal of the county boss one of the reasons being the irregular sacking of Health CEC Dr. Timothy Ombati.
Nyaribo sacked Ombati for allegedly causing him ‘embarrassment’ before the members of the public for not distributing drugs to all county hospitals.
It seems the MCA’s have made true their threat to impeach the governor with 28 out of 33 MCAs saying they will vote yes to the motion to remove him from office.
