Labour court extends orders stopping ongoing doctors strike.

The employment and Labour relations court on Wednesday extended orders barring the ongoing doctors strike.

Justice Byrum Ongaya further directed all the 47 county government and other stakeholders including SRC to negotiate with good faith and interest of all Kenyans.

The judge also directed that there should be doctors in all the level 3,4 and 5 to handle cases.The hospitals include Mathare hospital,KU and Kenyatta hospital.

“There should be atleast two doctors per carder,two medical officers ,two dental officers and two pharmacist and atleast two consultants designated to be on duty to handle emergencies,” judge said.

Justice Ongaya said that there should be no intimidation or harassment of union officials or members on account of the said dispute and that any disciplinary being commenced or continued should be stayed forthwith to facilitate members of the union to render service unhindered.
