The departmental committee on Administration and Security made a visit to the immigration offices on Monday to find out status of passport backlog.
The Director General Evelyn Cheluget met with the committee members and assured them that the immigration department had put up several initiatives to tackle issues of passport backlog.
Cheluget presented to them all the ongoing initiatives including putting additional counters to deal with urgent passport applications.
“We’re proud to share our commitment to a faster, more transparent, and efficient passport processing system. With re-investments and reforms in place, we’re reducing wait times and clearing the backlog,” Cheluget said
Last week she met all the immigration officers where she made her maiden speech and assured them of her support in delivering for Kenyans.
