Nyangara slapped with 14 M costs to be paid to MCA Omwoyo and IEBC.

Nominated MCA Dolphin Nyangara who lost her seat to city lawyer Michelle Omwoyo will now pay Sh 14 M as costs for losing the appeal.

Nyangara will pay the Sh 14 million to Omwoyo and IEBC who she had appealed against.

In two separate bill of costs filed in court, Omwoyo is seeking Sh 6.1 Million while IEBC is seeking for Sh 8.1 million.

The law firm of Shadrack Wambui for IEBC says the costs will cover instructions fees for the appeal and other costs.

The Law firm of Mwae and Co advocates for Omwoyo also says the fees will cover instructions and other costs incurred during the appeal.

Last week, Nyangara lost her appeal against Omwoyo where she had challenged the high court decision to uphold Omwoyo as the nominated MCA for Jubilee.

She had wrongfully filed the case at the court of appeal even though the court had no jurisdiction to hear the matter.

According to the law, all MCA related disputes can only be appealed to the high court and end there.

However, Nyangara decided to file the appeal at the court of appeal and even after being advised to withdraw the case she declined and decided to proceed with the matter.
