One of the robbers who has been terrorizing Kibera residents charged

One of the robbers popularly known as Mboso who has been terrorizing Kibera residents has been charged with robbery with violence.

Vincent Otieno alias Mboso was arraigned before a Kibera Law court and charged with one count of robbery.

It is alleged that he was among the robbers that robbed a KWS driver at 5.30 a.m. as he was leaving for work from his house in Kibera.

According to the chargesheet, on September 10 this year at Silanga in Langata jointly with others who have been arrested, while armed with pistols and an AK 47, they robbed Fred Macam.

The court heard that they violently took his phones valued at sh 55,000, Wrist Watch, USD 60 and they used actual violence on him by threatening to shoot him.

He denied the charge before Chief Magistrate Ann Mwangi and asked the court to release him on lenient bail terms.

Police reports claim that on that Sunday morning as Macam was leaving for work, just 50 metres from his house he was ambushed by Mboso and other boys who removed a gun from a sack.

They made him sit down on the road and they robbed him off his belongings while holding the AK47 on his head.

He was let go and went to report the matter to the police because he said he could identify some of the said boys.

Police began investigations and with the help of the public arrested Mboso but they are still looking for his accomplices.
