Pastor Mackenzie denied bail in manslaughter case by Mombasa court.

Contraversial Preacher Paul Mackenzie and 94 other accused persons were on Monday denied bail by a Mombasa court in their manslaughter case.

Mombasa Chief Magistrate Alex Ithuku ruled that the office of the DPP proved that there would be interference with the witness since most of the witnesses are children and his followers.

The Magistrate said that he considered the gravity of the 238 charges they are facing and the are that the life sentence if they are found guilty.

The court also ruled that the accused did not have a permanent residence as they were all arrested at Shakahola thus it will be difficult for them to be traced if they don’t appear in court.

The matter will be mentioned on April 25, 2024 for pretrial.
