A now retired police officer was on Wednesday arraigned before a Mombasa court where he was charged with receiving a Sh 20,000 bribe in 2019.
Charles Ka’galo appeared in court and denied the offenses which occurred when he was stationed in LikoniPolice station.
It is alleged that on November 16 2019. he received a financial advantage of Sh 20, 000 from Deborah Kironda to forbear charging her with a criminal offence which the Director of Criminal Investigations was investigating.
He was also charged with requesting a financial advantage of Sh20, 000 while stationed at Likoni Police Station DCI office from Deborah Kironda for her not to be charged with a criminal offence.
He denied the offense and was released on a sSh 500,000 and the case will be mentioned on February 19.
