A brother to late Instagram model and socialite Starlet Wahu who was found brutally murdered early this year in an Air BnB has narrated to court how he identified his late sister’s body.
In the case, John Matara was charged with the murder of Wahu Mwangi, a popular figure in the entertainment industry, who was found dead at an apartment in Nairobi’s South B area.
Julius Njoroge while testifying in court today confirmed that he positively identified his sister’s body at the City Mortuary following her tragic murder.
Njoroge emotionally recounted the events surrounding the discovery of his sister’s body telling court that on January 4, 2024, at around 4 p.m., he received the sad news from his brother, Jackson Mwangi that his beloved sister had been murdered.
He told court that thefollowing day, he was accompanied by his brother-in-law Richard Mwangi, to the City Mortuary where he identified Wahu’s body.
Njoroge said he also witnessed the post-mortem examination, which revealed visible injuries on Wahu’s body, specifically on one of her thighs and her neck.
“The injuries were evident,It was painful to see my sister in such a state.” He told court.
According to the prosecution, they have lined up fourteen witnesses to testify against Matara.
The hearing is scheduled to continue on March 11, 2025.
