Student Who Forged MKU Certificate to Get Sports Scholarship Charged

A young student who forged a Mount Kenya University diploma certificate in an attempt to secure a scholarship from the National Sports Offices was arraigned in court on Tuesday.

Gulleid Abdullahi Olow was charged with forging the diploma certificate, serial number 01700159, purporting it to be genuine and issued by Mount Kenya University.

According to the charge sheet, Gulleid submitted the forged diploma certificate to the National Sports Fund Human Resource Manager, Charles Maina Muriithi, with the intention of securing a scholarship.

He denied the charge before Magistrate Ndombi at Milimani Law Courts and pleaded with the court to release him on reasonable bail.

He was released on Sh 50,000 cash bail.

The case will be mentioned on September 5.
