Three employees of a Nakuru petroleum firm charged with stealing 5.2 M from the company.

Three employees of a Riva Petroleum Dealers limited in Nakuru were on Tuesday charged before a Nairobi court with stealing Sh 5.2 M from the company.

Simon Mugi Rugo, Felista Muthoni Nthiga and Christine Kwamboka Kinanga were arraigned before Senior Principal Magistrate Benard Ochoi and charged with several counts of stealing.

They were jointly charged with the first count of stealing and it was alleged that
on diverse dates between January and December 2023, they conspired to steal Sh 5.2 million from Riva petroleum dealers limited offices in Nakuru branch.

Mugi was separately charged with a second count and it was alleged that being an employee of Riva Petroleum dealers ltd, he stole lubricants valued Sh 2.5 million which came to his possession by virtue of his employment.

Muthoni and Kwamboka were also separately charged with stealing lubricants valued at Sh 1.5 million and Sh 1.2 million respectively.

They denied the charge and pleaded with the court to release them on reasonable bail terms.

They were released on Sh 500,000 bond each and a surety of the same amount.

The case will be mentioned on March 5, 2024.
