Three employees of Progressive Credit Ltd were on Thursday arraigned before a Nairobi court and charged with stealing Sh 30 M from the firm.
The three suspects Francis Masai Musyimi, Mercy Mbinya Muthoka and Charity Maua Muthoka were accused of conspiring to steal Sh 30,998,000 from Progressive Credit Limited.
It is alleged that the three together with Nicholas Muia Kyengo who is still at large, on diverse dates between April 12, 2022 and July 18, 2024 being employees of Progressive Credit Limited allegedly stole Sh 30,998,000 from the said Limited.
Francis Masai Musyimi and Nicholas Muia Kyengo were separately charged with stealing by servant where the prosecution alleged that the two stole Ksh 30,998,000 from their employer, Progressive Credit Limited.
Charity Maua Muthoka was also separately charged with stealing Ksh 30,998,000 from Progressive Credit limited on diverse dates between April 12, 2022 and July 18, 2024.
They denied the charge before Magistrate Benmark Ekhubi and pleaded with the court to release them on reasonable bail.
The prosecution vehemently opposed release of the suspects on bond or bail.
Musyimi and Mercy Muthoka were released on a Sh 5 million bond while
Charity Maua Muthoka, who is a judicial officer, based at Nyeri was released on Sh 3m bond with an alternative cash bail of Sh 800,000.
The case will be mentioned on January 16, 2025.
