Three scrap metal dealers appeared in a Nairobi court on Wednesday, facing charges of stealing over Sh129 million from a fellow businessman.
The accused, Ebrahim Ahmed Ebrahim, Abdul Razak Rehan, and Mohamed Amin, were jointly charged with defrauding Shazada Aniq Ayub of Sh129,187,756. The prosecution alleges that the three men falsely claimed they could help Ayub obtain a scrap metal dealer’s license and supply him with 1,100 tonnes of scrap metal and batteries.
In addition, Abdul Razak Rehan faced a separate charge of forging a scrap metal certificate and dealer’s license.
The three defendants denied the charges before Magistrate Martha Nazushi and requested reasonable bail terms. Magistrate Nazushi granted each of them a bond of Sh5 million.
