Two former Anti-narcotics police officers have case to answer in 75 M drug trafficking case

Two former Anti-narcotics cops have a case to answer in a case of trafficking heroine valued at Sh 75 Million.

JKIA magistrate Christine Njagi put Urbanus Kioko and Alloyse Onyango on their defence ruling that a prima facie case has been established against them.

Also put on defence were Peter Odongo, Alfric Otieno and Festus Elemu who were also charged alongside the two cops.

The five accused will now get a chance to defend themselves from the charges before the court decided if they are guilty or not.

The case will be mentioned on September 26 when hearing dates for the defense trial will be taken.

In the first count they are charged jointly and it’s alleged that on March 9 2019 at Donholm Area they trafficked heroine weighing 25 Kgs with a market value of Sh 75 Million.

The two officers were separately charged with compounding a felony and it was alleged that they received a 25 kgs of heroine for the other three upon an agreement that you will conceal the offence of trafficking.

Elemu was also separately charged with a second count of trafficking heroine worth Sh 11.1 million.
