Two househelps who stole from their employer jewelry and clothes worth 2.1 M charged in court

Two house helps who were arrested for allegedly stealing assorted clothes and jewelry worth over Sh 2.1 million have been charged with stealing.

Gloria Khamisi Vike and Linet Kavetsa Kateyi were charged before Kibera Senior Resident Magistrate William Tulel and denied the offense of stealing.

It is alleged that on diverse dates between November 1 and December 23 in Lavington area in Dagoreti Sub-County within Nairobi County, they stole from Jacquiline Githuma who had employed them as househelps.

They are alleged to have stolen assorted clothes, gold and diamond jewelry from Githuma while she was away.

They denied the charges and pleaded for lenient bail terms.

They were each ordered to pay a Sh 1 million bond with a surety of the same amount.

The matter will be mentioned in January 22
