A woman was on Monday arraigned before a Nairobi court and charged for beating up a woman who she found in a compromising position with her husband
Ruth Stacy Amondi was arraigned before Chief Magistrate Benard Ochoi, where she denied the charge of assault.
It was alleged that she assaulted Quinta Adhiambo Modi on March 10th this year in Nairobi.
Amondi’s lawyer informed the court that his client was in town when she saw her husband in a compromising position with Adhiambo, which led to an altercation that resulted in the court case.
The lawyer further submitted that they were in the process of mediating with the aim of settling the matter out of court.
He mentioned that all parties involved come from the same village and, as elders, they were attempting to mediate the matter.
He urged the court to grant her reasonable bail terms, also noting that she had a sick child with her in court.
Magistrate Ochoi released her on a Sh10,000 cash bail.
